Important Note
Effective January 1, 2022, we are pleased to announce that we will also be the preferred provider of knee/hip replacement and spinal fusion surgeries for U.S. 3M medical plan participants. Other surgeries and procedures will continue to be covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, Health Partners, or by Carrum Health, as applicable. This change will ensure that 3M plan participants receive high-quality care and access to the top physicians and surgeons in the country. Plus, 3M covers 100% of the surgery costs (if you’re on a high deductible plan, you will need to meet the deductible).

Who is eligible?
Carrum Health is a special surgery and medical benefit available to Nemours Children’s Health associates, spouses and children (18+), and COBRA participants enrolled in a Nemours medical plan.
*With the exception of second opinions, individuals enrolled in high-deductible plans must first meet their deductible, but copays and coinsurance will be waived. Second opinions are provided at no cost to members and do not require payment of any deductible. Per IRS rules, a portion of any covered travel expenses will be reported as taxable income.

You’ll even be able to receive a second opinion from one of these experts, at no cost to you. To see if Carrum covers the procedure or treatment you may need, log in to your account and simply enter the care you need when prompted.
Depending on your medical plan and the type of care you need, you may first need to meet your deductible, but otherwise most, if not all, costs are often covered. Second opinions are provided at no cost to members, and do not require payment of any deductible. Sometimes, to get the best care possible, you may need to travel to a specialized hospital or care center. Fortunately, in these instances, travel expenses like airfare, hotel fees, and even meals are often covered for you and a companion, depending on the care you need. Your Carrum Care Specialist will even make all of your travel arrangements, so all you have to do is focus on yourself.
