Who is eligible?
Carrum Health is a special surgery and cancer care benefit for 3M employees and family members (18+) enrolled in a 3M medical plan.
*Members must meet their deductible if they’re on a high-deductible plan, but copays and coinsurance are waived. Per IRS rules, a portion of any covered travel expenses will be reported as taxable income to the covered member.
This is not the official plan document for the plan, and in the event of any conflict, inconsistency or ambiguity between this and the official plan document, the terms of the official plan document will control. 3M reserves the right to modify, amend or terminate the plan, in whole or in part, at any time.

Carrum Health covers a wide range of non-emergency surgical and medical care from top doctors in the country who specialize in a variety of conditions. You’ll even be able to receive a second opinion from one of these experts, at no cost to you. Depending on your medical plan and the type of care you need, you may first need to meet your deductible, but otherwise most, if not all, costs are often covered. Second opinions are provided at no cost to members, and do not require payment of any deductible. To see how much you may need to pay, complete your Carrum Health profile or connect with our care team today. Sometimes, to get the best care possible, you may need to travel to a specialized hospital or care center. Fortunately, in these instances, travel expenses like airfare, hotel fees, and even meals are often covered for you and a companion, depending on the care you need. Your Carrum Care Specialist will even make all of your travel arrangements, so all you have to do is focus on yourself. After completing your Carrum Health profile and letting us know what type of care you’re looking for, you’ll see a list of requirements for your specific case. You’ll also be asked to complete an online release form, so that necessary medical records and images can be collected by our team and sent to your doctor for review.
